They didn't say it was a replacement for pharmaceuticals, just that it worked for patients who happened to be avid gamers.

It might help dull symptoms as a form of mental escapism, but I've known people that ended up losing jobs and relationships because they began escaping for 10-16 hours a day in to games. And I'm not sure that many of those with severe depression have the self control to keep their gaming habits to what we might call moderation. Obviously people with depression can find some solice in gaming, but when you have  video titled how games can "beta" depression, well thats just wrong. games will not solve the underlying issue of depression, ever.
