Does Sun and Moon hold the 'right steps' for the 2019 'more core' Pokemon game?

I hope not. I disliked the tropical setting, HATED the trials, how easy the game was, the constant hand holding, annoying characters, and those Z-moves, oh God, I cringe every time.
