Those savings are pretty negligible relative ro the sum cost of bringing the game to shelves.  If they aren't going to put it on a cart, they get even better savings - far better, since the biggest cost for them by a mile is the retailer cut - and dodge bad PR by just doing a digital release.

I really hope you're right. I'm buying this sucker and I'll be pissed off if I pen the box and its just a download card. XD With the Switch's limited storage I knew I'd have to buy a microSD card eventually, but I hoped to delay doing so as long as possible.
