It may be that they have some new characters/stages to show for Smash but also because of the E3 Smash overload that pissed a few off, maybe this time it will be the exact opposite. From being a "Surprise" Direct ending up almost exclusively about Smash to a Smash direct which actually contains some other completely unexpected big game reveals.
