You bring up a good subject, however, I think the reasoning behind the difference in covers is that European gamers (UK etc) might have been more into these titles for a longer time than NA gamers (with the NES dominating the rest of the 80s). The titles might have good name recognition, hence why they are laid out like that on the EU box.
