You may disagree with me, and I understand that, but I found Metaknight far too easy to pick up and that turned me off about him. Within one day of practice I was 3 stocking people my Dedede struggled with (admittedly I sucked with Dedede at that time though) and I just lost interest in him within 2 weeks after that.

I enjoy Dedede because he's not really a character someone can just pick up and do well with. He seems to have a pretty high learning curve for his actual combat (Not that any character is truly easy to master). His chaingrabs might be somewhat easy to learn, but since all tournaments ban stages with permanent walls and walk offs it can't truly be abused as much as people say. Not to mention, the timing for it is different for every character, and some are immune entirely. Lot of people chose him since he could KO at obscene percentages, but once they realized F-smash isn't really reliable they left him.

I've seen quite a few Dedede's that thought Up-B is a viable attack.... I laugh at them. See quite a few that can chaingrab and F-smash and not much else... I laugh at them as well.

Kirby I enjoy because he's so underestimated. No one expects the little pink puffball to do anything but die. I'm sure you know better by now though. =p He's not too awful hard to learn (least for me, but I used him in melee), but he's not overused either.

Pikachu.... my Pokemon fanboy pride requires knowledge of and skill in a Pokemon character, and he's the one I click with the most. I also enjoy the deranged way Pikachu can move with Quick Attack but I haven't mastered his Quick Attack cancel techniques yet. My fail to QuAC makes me sad ._.
