A smaller version with permanently attached joycon is needed for small children and more portability to help finish off the 3DS, but not until next year. Would be nice to see it launched alongside a Switch XL that replaces the bezel for screen area and is 1080 handheld, but even that model so early isn’t a must. The smaller child-friendly version needs to be released at the latest 2019 though.

1. Switch Mini, portable only version, $199

2. Switch TV, console only version, $199

3. Switch Pro, more powerful hybrid version, $299
