I mean I thought his take was interesting. I thought it was going to be one of those videos that really reach for an answer where there isn't really one, and yet he actually came up with a pretty decent game theory. I get why some people don't care, but a lot of people on the internet find it fun to speculate about the lore of video games. Splatoon's lore is surprisingly deep but also a little half-assed, probably because Nintendo refuses to take lore seriously, even in series where large portions of the fans demand it like the Zelda fanbase. And he was right that Pokemon was doing a reboot, it was just more of a soft reboot than a hard one. I for one think it would have been awesome if Pokemon had done a proper reboot, and given that Let's Go tells the Gen 1 story over again but different, it's not too late for the next mainline games to be a reboot of sorts. We'll see what they do. Let's just hope they don't include too much from the Let's Go games like the removal of wild Pokemon battles or dumbing down of the mechanics.
