To me the big issue with this rumor is the sheer amount of stuff. Nintendo has never revealed so much in any direct or conference before. There's no way all that would fit in 1/2 hour.
Also, if Nintendo had half of this to show in July, then they should have shown a lot of it during the E3 direct. They overestimated how much Smash could carry an E3.
