You cannot just say you're not wrong and then continue to destroy your own argument. You know what helps with porting games to Switch in a timely manner and for next to no cost? Using the same hardware as everyone else. So yes, it is very much 100% a hardware and power issue. And the cost of a late port should not be higher, but lower because it doesn't finance the creation of the game, but the creation of the port, which costs a hell lot less. The few bucks that a cart costs isn't any justification anyway. That's ignoring the fact that even if there is any significant cost connected to the carts, it's Nintendo who should subsidize it for the developers because it was their fucking idea. Nintendo wants games on their system just as much as developers want their games on as many systems as possible so this should be a 2 way street. Sadly we're talking about Nintendo and when they can find ways to throw bricks into other people's ways including their customers they'll take it if it makes them a few cents more. Now I am not saying that it's Nintendo's fault that 3rd party games are as expensive as they are. The publishers set the price and I'm sure that $60 are way overpriced for what the ports and distribution actually cost. But it's a result of the circumstance that Nintendo themselves created for them, the developers and their customers. Nintendo will still be very successful with their tactic so we will have to live with it. |
You have used a different set of logic than I did, but you agree overall that the pricepoint of these ports is a huge hindrance (regardless of how you came to that same conclusion).
I was speaking about the difference between two versions where power is not a factor to me if I have portability. Had Ys VIII been there, I would have gotten Wolfenstein 2 and it for 120 and left before ever looking at the PS4 games despit knowing I had a PS4 Pro at my disposal. Perhaps it was a sign lol.
