I think both Freedom of speech and the truth should be protected. Knowingly lying to the masses is what i don't consider to be part of "freedom of speech". I consider it deceit and thus a crime that should be punished. Just so this doesn't get taken to the ridiculous, cause there's always a guy... That doesn't include meaningless lies. I mean lies that can lead to power shift in the country. They should be severely punished in order to send the message that it's not ok to manipulate voters. |
I disagree with quite a bit of that but I'll just respond quickly. I think that's idealistic and wouldn't work in practice. Politicians would weaponize it against eachother. It would just make them more corrupt.
