it's more about developers wanting to tap into a 1 billion+ consumer market. Hence why many games are now coming out for phones, PC and consoles. It makes sense in the grand scheme of things. This is why crossplay and connectivity will become more important in the future. How much? we can't be sure, but some consumers might prefer to go with a console that promotes crossplay as more and more games become involved in this.

The problem with that logic is that both Sony and MS support cross play with phone and PC already.  Next gen, Nintendo will not be a factor for cross play so if Sony says no...

PS5+PC+Mobile

Vs

X(2)+PC+Mobile

Without a 3rd big player, MS would have no advantage over Sony and therefore, regardless of who is holding it back, console crossplay becomes irrelevant from a business standpoint.

If mobile remains to be a player, Nintendo will remain to be a player as well, for sure. You can't include mobile but then exclude Nintendo. Makes no sense.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.
