So, a strategy that might only for Nintendo? That seems convenient. You know why companies don't focus just on the short term (presentations)? This is why companies try to focus on more than just the short term; They present what's to come soon and in the future because they want your vision of future (purchases) associated with their products. What's working for them is not their short-term (presentation) strategy, it's the games they brought to the market last year and the innovative concept. |
No, maybe would work for someone else but thats not point, point is that works for Nintendo. Sony is not going Nintendo way, but they also want to have less time between announcing and releasing games.
That really depends from market and business, it's not same for every product and bussines. If Nintendo keep winning in short term constantly (with HW and SW sales), I dont see how can Switch lose war, and Switch is obviously on good path, with HW and SW sales and thats whats more important.
What other companies is doing is irrelevant, again, Nintendo obviously has different approach and strategy that works for them, if Nintendo wanted to do same thing like other compaines, they wouldn't released hybrid on first place.
Actually SW sales also proves that their strategy works, focus on games that will be out in near future that leads to good SW sales.
At end, all come that you personally don't like Nintendo strategy and how they operating, and you would love they are more like Sony and MS, that very subjective, but objectivly we can say that Nintendo is doing very well with their different approach and different strategy and that they currently don't have any reason to change anything.
