It's crazy how there are people here claiming cross play is a positive as if it is a fact.

Sure there are instances where cross play makes sense but there are also instances when it doesn't.

I don't understand how people are acting like Sony is the bad guy for not wanting to help their competitors, (Nintendo and Microsoft) when both Nintendo and Microsoft blocked cross play in the past while Sony was welcoming cross play with PC.

It gets even dumber when the same people claiming that Sony is the bad guy are the same people constantly ignoring the fact that Microsoft is the only one who charges a fee to access free to play games.

If Nintendo and Microsoft cared about each other then why does Microsoft require Switch owners to make Xbox Live accounts? Why does Microsoft not put Halo 5 on the Switch?

Nintendo and Microsoft are only doing this because they're behind in the market. Nintendo and Microsoft used to be extremely bullish against 3rd party developers while Sony was welcoming cross play. When Nintendo and Microsoft started losing badly they did an about face and tried to mimic Sony's gamer and developer first approach.

Sony has been doing cross play since the start of online multiplayer dating back to the PS2. You can't really blame Sony for not wanting to help Nintendo and Microsoft. The only reason Nintendo and Microsoft reversed course is because they realized Sony was so far ahead of them. But it is pathetic they expect Sony to give them a helping hand when Nintendo and Microsoft only have themselves to blame.
