MS has done just fine with the quality of their first-party offerings this generation. The difference is that Sony has knocked it out of the park. So, people now have unrealistically high expectations. It is not usual, even for the top dog in this category - Nintendo, to have every big title they release for a 2 year period end up with amazingly high meta scores. Halo at 84 and Gears at 84, Horizons in the upper 80's, Motorsports averaging mid-80's. Those are very good scores, and, to the extent I've played them, very good games.
I'm not going to do the research to get exact numbers. But, my guess is that MS' first-party, AAA offerings, this generation, when averaged, are within the normal range of review scores.
Also, I'd like to know what the average for PS is, if you take all of their first-party, rather than just GoW, H:ZD, and a couple other heavy hitters. It isn't like every one of their games gets a 90+ score.
