Why do we still look forward to Nintendo's E3 directs?

People are making it out to be worse than it really was, in terms of content it was about the same as last year except for an extra 20 minutes of Smash info which could have been saved for the Treehouse or a Smash specific Direct.

If they would have just done a 3-5 mimute trailer for Smash than it would have been pretty similar to last year.

Yeah, biggest problem with E3 Direct was too long Smash Bros segment (Bros Smash took 24 min from 42 min Direct), so basicly people forget all other things showed before Smash Bros segment and they were bored, so if Smash Bros Ultimate had only around 5 min segment, reactions would be far more positive then they were, while this looked more like Smash Bros Direct than E3 Direct.
