The XBox 360 is still the king of third party software sales in North America in 2008, but it also had the largest userbase for most of 2008 (in North America), and has a very large portion of its software sales allocated to a very small number of "Big Hits" ... The Wii is doing very well (in general) being that it has sold the second most third party software so far in 2008 and has a fairly even distribution of sales outside of a handful of big hits.
