He (& others in this thread) keeps wriggling out of this key point, which is the fundamental issue.

I really don't get this die-hard loyalty towards a corporation...

It wouldn't surprise me if a few of them were sporting Sony tattoos.

Guess what guys, Sony (or Nintendo, or Microsoft) just want your money - they're not gonna buy you a drink on your birthday or attend your baby shower!

Open your eyes and recognise anti-consumer behaviour when you see it!

Insinuating that we're fan boys just because we don't agree with entitled gamers on this is a bit much. I just disagree with their complaints. Sony's policy on this is a normal policy for all 3 on most multiplatform games. Expecting or assuming that sony had a different policy from normal on fortnite is nonsensical. Mass whining about shooting yourself in the foot and expecting a company to make it better is nonsensical.

The only nonsensical thing here is you continuing to conflate standard multiplatform games & dlc with the very specific case of fortnite - they are 2 different things, so stop.

The epic account isn't intrinsically linked to a specific platform, it's Sony who is stipulating that logging on just once, even if the account was created on a pc or mobile device (where you could have already logged hundreds of hours) will tether it to psn & prevent it from connecting to switch or xbox. That is not how multiplatforn games/dlc works. If I'm wrong, please site examples.

Of course this suits Sony, as it is essentially making it impossible for gamers to then play on that account on a competing console - a pretty dirty tactic since that gamer may have only ever logged on to psn that one time...

You know who it isn't beneficial to (aside from Nintendo & MS of course) is THE GAMER - so you & me. And that's the side you should be on, not a bunch of suits making decisions based on spreadsheets.

Also, there are countless occasions where public pressure has forced a company to change policy, so your last point about moaning being nonsensical shows a complete lack of basic insight into business and the gaming industry.
