No, it's more dumb to build a fanbase for several years and then decide to abandon them for a different kind of fanbase.

And FFXV isn't involved in this at all, so why are you bringing it up?

FF XV isn't involved in this?

You are asking the developer to build the game based on fan's feedback, instead of following their own vision. FF XV was built and altered by user feedback. The developer didn't know how to build the game properly and it became a mess that follows no vision and has zero artistic integrity.

Fans of CDPR? You mean fans of The Witcher series. That series is a third person action RPG. Their new game isn't The Witcher. Why should they create the game to be the same as their different franchise?

Should S-E never have created anything other than turn-based RPGs? No TRPGs or no ARPGs? Because most of their fans were used to their turn-based style of gameplay?

That just doesn't make any sense. Like you want to put them in a box and no matter what they do, they need to follow the same template they've used for that one other franchise they've made so far and nothing else.

Sorry, but no. Just no.

Yeah, no, FFXV has nothing to do with this. FFXV was an action game in a series that had never truly been action. Witcher to Cyberpunk is a perspective shift.

Fans of the Witcher games are just as much fans of Witcher as they are CDPR. There are indeed Witcher fans who've read all the books and whatnot, but there are many more people who just appreciate the games  that CDPR made. People wouldn't be excited at all if it wasn't for the Witcher. As such, people expected a certain genre of action game, and didn't get it. That's why some fans are calling for an optional third person mode, and that's why other fans are just dipping out.
