I know people really want to pressure Sony about this, but i think what they are doing is perfectly logical and should be expected at this point.

I always remember how Microsoft did the same exact thing last gen but the other way around. Sony wanted to play ball, but Microsoft didn't. This is a game, and they are all playing the saints when none of them are. Whoever is on top will try to keep staying on top and whoever isn't obviously wants them to not wall off their customers. Sony has no reason to help their competitors. It would be naive to do so. When the roles are reversed the tune sung will be different.

At the end of the day. no one "NEEDS" cross play. It's a convenience that would be nice to have, but it shouldn't be expected. Sony would be letting go of millions on revenue that would be lost to competitors in micro-transactions. Who in their right mind would do that? If it was a smaller game, maybe, but a juggernaut like Fortnite means a lot of money.

It's not about crossplay, though.
