PS3-X360 same Wii diff
PSP DS Diff

Well, It is more appealing to claim your console is not competing in the same market than concede not being 1st place. I think that is the point of this thread.

How many of the games that apear on the DS that would have been PSP games could it have been helped by developers? How many of games making up the DS' JRPG library would have been PSP games had the tables been turned? You can tell yourself, "Oh none of the games on the DS would have ever been put on the PSP because the DS' unique dual screen / touch screen means games have to be made specially for it", but if you're going to put a project on one console over another due to circumstances I'd imagine they'd at least want to make it fit the console. Are you telling me Dragon Quest 9 never would have gone to the PSP? FF remakes 3-6 wouldn't have gone to the PSP? Or even that Monster Hunter 3 would have never gone to the PS3 because it will use Wii motion controls? Hell we're even seeing Nippon Ichi RPGs being put on the DS.

We'll never know exactly how many games were stolen from the PSP by the DS (and sure many titles would have never been made had the DS not been the market leader), but rest assured its probably a good sized figure. While there is some validity to the Wii not competing with the 360/PS3 at this point, there is definitly no grounds to assert that the PSP isn't competing with the DS, unles of course your argument is that the PSP is first and foremost a Communications Device and Club Scene Trinket while the DS is just a Portable Video Game Console.
