Only now i saw the Nintendo Direct.

My expectations before: no 2019 games; an incoming letdown.
What i got:
Two 2019 games. Don't really know why they show 2 and not more, seeing as they said NO 2019 games. If you are going to break your rule, at least don't be shy about it.
17 minutes of non Smash talk. If you really love Smash you probably were in heaven - i didn't even watch because i don't care about the game.
Nintendo gives games like Hollow Knight and Overcooked, spotlight, and then says "oh, right, here's FIFA 19 and Dragon Ball Z"? Really? I mean, really? Why?

At first i was beggining to feel like the presentation was going to be better than i anticipated. Didn't take long for that feeling to go away…

Don't really understand how they can mismanage their time like this. Fifa 19 and Dragon Ball Z should have been given more time. Oh, i forgot about Deom's Souls - or whatever the name of the game.

Another year and no big, relevant, 3rd party game except for Fifa 19. Nothing to worry about.

What 2 games were 2019?

Fire Emblem was one I know, and I assume they showed that because they had been touting it as 2018 for so long they need to show it was still being made. If they didn't show it and said it was coming 2019, people would be pissed.

The way I took the Smash part was, the prior E3's were like 25 minutes, this was 45 minutes. Take out the 25 minutes of smash and replace it with a 5 minute smash section and you have a typical E3 for Nintendo. So this was sort of a E3/Smash Direct combined.

As for the Dragonball FighterZ and others montage that went by too fast, I sort of agree. I would have like those games ot get say a 30 second trailer each, but they were also not any surprises. Dragonball was leaked earlier and we knew it was coming due to the other games on that list either getting some spotlight or confirmed earlier in week. Or else the other games like Starlight, fifa was in other conferences.
