By platform holder you mean the one who owns the game?.
I don't really buy into the funding card. Otherwise we're just getting knee deep in "it's okay when Sony money hats/funds something, but when others do it it's wrong".
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
