Why don't we all just wait till TGS08.
When asked about DQIX release date -- its confirmed for this year, but it *might* slip to next financial year based on various factors...
To put it simply i think SE will launch either FFXIII or DQIX this holiday season with the other launching early next financial year...
I mean FF games and DQ games are like GTA and MGS -- you don't need the holiday season to boost sales, infact i think your better off releasing the game in period of the year which doesn't have many games coming out -- it results in more people buying the product and more praise due to less competition.
