I genuinely felt the last delay was due largely to the graphics being criticized. In reality it looked significantly better than last gen Crackdown games, but people want cutting edge visuals I suppose. Perhaps the next reveal will show a significant overhaul there.

A Battle Royale mode could actually be really cool in a destructive environment. Crackdown 3 has the potential to be really unique and ambitious product.

I have a Vita, I'm much happier with my X1 when it comes to 1st party games. Sony had some interesting stuff on Vita, but they always felt half baked and low budget. They never really tried to make something at par with their notable home console games. For example Vita's Uncharted, Resistance, and Killzone weren't as ambitious as the console games. Meanwhile some notable IPs like Gran Turismo and God of War didn't get Vita releases. Lastly and most important, we haven't seen everything MS will do for the X1.

I would be stunned if it didn't have a Battle Royale mode now, like you said it would suit the gameplay very well.

And I largely agree with the X1/Vita comparison.  I don't think making something on par with home console releases was realistic on the system, but I think certainly with Uncharted at least they did as much as they could. But right now X1 and Vita are my least played consoles ever. But as you said, at least X1 has time to pull ahead a bit.

It would also be interesting to see if they go F2P with the Battle Royale mode. That's the reason Fortnite is so popular, it got their foot in the door. Maybe MS rather do something big with Crackdown than put out another game that just comes and goes.

I'm gonna cherry pick, a game Resident Evil Revelations was built for the technically inferior 3DS but actually felt close to RE4 and RE5 in game design, ambitious, etc. It was such an impressive effort that it translated to home consoles well. God of War games on PSP were impressive as well, they were notable games in the IP. Hence, I felt Vita was fine in the specs department while the games weren't living up to their potential. Killzone was arguably their best attempt at bringing an established 1st party IP to Vita, but still not great.
