I certainly think SE doesn't hate Nintendo, or has anything against them. But they surely show a lack of confidence, at least in the early stages of Switch's lifecycle. That is also true for most 3rd parties.

Yes I totally agree with you that they may have underestimated Switch sales potential and the games that could thrive on it (although I don't think FF XV would get a competent port in Switch).

Now is time to see what they are going to develop in this dedicated division and if they are going to keep them exclusives to Switch (either because they are doing ports of the others versions, or developing games they think doesn't have market in the other consoles) or port over after release.

Well with regards to DQXI, we also need to remember how...well terrible Square is at directing major projects on ANY platform.  It's entirely possible and indeed quite likely they've poorly managed the DQXI Switch port.
