Bravely Default was one of the most soulless, grindy, and repetitive RPGs I have ever played. The game literally keeps repeating itself for padding. It is perhaps because certain younger Nintendo fans have accepted mediocrity in the place of greatness because they haven’t had the experience. There’s no reason to be a champion of mediocre RPGs because they’re the best exclusives that Square’s got for Nintendo consoles at this time. |
Well as someone who didn't finish the game due to the flaws you are referring to - and who is not a young ingorant fanboy, though thanks for that cheapshot - I think you are being quite hyperbolic.
Bravely Default is quite solid...for 2/3 of its run time. The third act is, imho, the single most severe drop in quality I have ever seen in a game.but it doesn't make the whole game bad from start to finish and to declare it as a fact like you are some objective arbiter of quality and everyone else is young, ignorant, and blindly loyal is quite arrogant.
It's biggest flaw is a lack of spine. They were clearly terrified that if the game didn't reach arbitrary length, it would be scoffed at. But if the game had just allowed itself to be the 25 to 30 hours tops game that it actually is, it would have been much better.
