And like I said, in the OG trilogy, no one made a face or comment about it, meaning it was a pretty normal last name in that galaxy. Them having a recruiter give it to him, meaning it wasn't just a normal last name, and using the word solo (which I don't think has been used in the franchise, except when to refer to Han's last name), takes it out of that galaxy and into ours. Same goes for the politics they put into the last two films. Hell, Rian Johnson even thought it would be an awesome reveal to have the camera move over some near the end of Ep 9 and we find out it is current day USA while the events of Ep 9 was happening. They are taking it out of the "a long time ago and in a galaxy far, far away." |
The worst part is I think this is far more likely than getting another 'good' Star Wars film. I will say the politicking in TLJ is really hard to ignore, but if they were to end up doing this it would be at the forefront, at which point Star Wars would be forever dead with all films coming before it then irrelevant.
