MGS4 sales are almost identical to MGS3 sales in Japan & Europe - its the US where the extra units were sold. And the sales for MGS3 in the US spiked 3-4 weeks after its release.

All the figures we have, show that MGS4 is selling somewhere between MGS2 & MGS3. As always - its the NEXT couple of weeks that will be telling.

That said - you should be focusing on HARDWARE sales. MGS + bundles + vouchers + 80gig (etc) has caused a very significant spike in worldwide PS3 sales.

 

How is that cherry picking? MGS4 sold more than MGS3, that's all that there is to it. As much as I'm sure it pains you to see it.

It is cherry picking though. He's looking at the total sales of MGS4 without looking at the regional sales. There is a large disparity between Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4 when it comes to America.
