Why not? An almost 1 to 1 3D HD render of the Kanto region, Professor Oak, 8 gyms, Team Rocket etc.

I would say this is the biggest change of direction the series has ever seen, but these are spin-offs so none of it (or at least most of it is not) going to transfer over to the main series game in 2019. Which is a good thing though in my eyes, because these games are clearly their own single separate experience with unconventional mechanics that just wouldn't work in a main game.  

It's not a full remake in the traditional sense. No wild Pokemon battles. I'm curious how you'll level up your Pokemon once you beat all the trainers. Oh no. Not the candy. Noooo
