1.I mostly agree as I said in the rest of my post. Even if PS5 solved all of those early PS3 stumbles, I don't see anything changing peoples mind on the value of consoles.

2.As cool as it would be, to me, having multiple tiers on day one is most likely a dangerous direction. Like you said, someone is going to be hurt, (or say they feel hurt to cause a stir), if they have a base and premium model. If they want to do other form factors or higher performance models, it has to be later once the platform is established, and the core complainers, can't mislead the masses with their agenda.

1. I think otherwise. RAW power now is more a thing than it ever was, also I dont see PS5 launching with that poor games library as PS4 or even PS3. My bet is awesome backward compat with improved graphics/FPS and Horizon 2, maybe GoW5,  Cyberpunk with really improved graphics at launch window. Ultimately Sony can sell PS5 wilth sligh loss at launch, just like they did before.

See, I am a huge fan of true generational leap.

2.Complainers ? Listen, base and premium model is like pointing somebody " hey, u dirty peasant, not having 800$ ? Go buy premium LOL" This is a PC thing and it have to stay there. These folks simply dont care.

I think these mid gen upgrades talk will bite both MS and Sony in the ass with next gen consoles launch. If there will be a clear space for future upgrade in mind, Digital Foundry and others will notice it immediately.
