Sega is (ultimately) a very bad purchase at this point in time ... had they bought them in 2001 rather than let them go third party, destroy their reputation, and kill people's love of their classic games it would have been a good purchase.
In my opinion, it would be a good move by Nintendo to enter into an exclusive publishing contract with High Voltage similar to what they did with nSpace and Retro; if they end up being a good developer then it makes sense to buy them (like Rare) and if they end up to be not so great throw them to the wolves (like nSpace) ...
