So happy for SSM! Happy they got out of the slump after game cancelletion and layoffs. MLB The show seems to do well every year and its actually past Sea of Thieves in NPD sales, even with latter having windows market sales :o . Sea of Thieves had pretty big drop.

I think next month will be very interesting with new exclusives and how old ones hold up.

SO we should make a thread of MLB The Show versus SoT instead?

It beat even San Andreas? :O Now that is impressive!

San Andreas released on October 26th 2004, so it had five or six days of tracking. Also, since some time NPD emphasizes revenue over unit sales, so if the same metric is used in this comparison, God of War holds an obvious advantage due to the higher game price today than back then, plus the existence of various special editions which wasn't a common practice over a decade ago.

San Andreas sold 5.1m copies in the USA in 2004, but I couldn't find sales for the individual months of October, November and December. That's why it's unclear if the metric is revenue or unit sales in this comparison.

Seems like SA sold 2.06M on first month.
