Trying so hard not to be negative these days, but I swear to god Nintendo better deliver this E3, the Switch is currently on a trajectory to be the most disappointing system of all time for me.

It started out with such enormous promise, only to become a dumping ground for ancient ports, shovelware, and mediocrity.  Not a single high quality new game since Xenoblade 2 last December.

I love the hardware and last years second half lineup was amazing, but the software output this year has been absolutely pathetic so far.

I feel at this point, you should just wait for a system life cycle to be over before buying one. Most systems go through slow times and given your standards of only getting something super ambitious instead of just trying to have some fun (and I don't know how Splatoon 2 counts as something new) it will be worse overall waiting for something big to come out, adding to the fact that If ever as something as a small drought for you makes you overreact like this.

I don't limit myself to only the "super ambitious"; Splatoon 2 wasn't overly ambitious but it was still a high quality new game, same with Kingdom Battle. I just want something on that level of quality that I didn't already play to death years ago.
