Not every system can get every game. Switch is a great platform for games from Nintendo and its partners, from Japanese AA developers, and from small indie studios. If you liked the WiiU, 3DS, and Vita, then here is your perfect system.

It's not a great platform, however, for AAA games. It was never designed to be. So, if you really want to play Resident Evil 7 and Monster Hunter World go out and buy a PS4 or XOne. Sony and Microsoft fans have to suck it up if they want to play Nintendo games, and Switch-only owners are going to have to suck it up if they desire a wide variety of AAA games.

This is way off topic. RE7 is jsut the latest example of a game not being supplied in full. There are plenty of Switch games, mainly from Capcom and 2ksports where they decided to go as low as the 1GB cart and force you to download 20gbs to play the game.

The point here is simple for those devs who have chosen to make a game on Switch, we should get the full game on the cart. So what are people willing to pay knowing that a larger cart costs more than a BlueRay.

From what we seen so far it would appear that Nintendo need to absorb the cost and not pass it onto the devs, otherwise a few are turned off and those few who are not use small carts. Essentially they are not winning anyone over with their greed to profit on the carts. The only way this will happen is if we the gamers start making noise about it to Nintendo.

Otherwise, i think it is not unreasonable to pay a little extra because of the technology and advantages the game has being on a cart compared to a disc.

I admit it’s slightly off topic, but I didn’t think a standard response would really push the conversation forward. I agree that these half measures — a cloud-based version or a partial download — are bullshit, but I think it’s the price you pay for all the great things about Switch.

To answer your question: I’d much rather pay extra for a large capacity cart than embrace the status quo. But, to reference my original post, there is a perfectly viable third option for multi-console owners.
