Almost never. Which is kinda odd since I love the japanese kitchen. I have a dozen of japanese cooking books here and almost every second meal in there contains rice. But since I'm not a huge fan of rice, I always just swap the rice in the recipe with noodles. Well, except when I'm making 寿司, since that would be really strange with pasta. =D
