The PS4 stock issue is exclusive to Amazon so I wouldn't go by what's happening on Amazon. 

Amazon order as they see fit. Retailers order and store until sold. By under stocking Amazon, Sony force Amazon to sell via 3rd party, which then helps sell the stock retailers have built up.
