Probably never because Nintendo making the jump to open world games this gen has increased the development times significantly. BotW was great but it took like 5 years of heavy development and Mario Galaxy clearly took a lot longer to develop that Mario 3D World. The extra resources freed up by not focusing on the 3DS is going to be consumed very quickly by the greater degree of complexity that needs to go into Switch titles.
That being said, if Nintendo keeps knocking it out of the park with the AAA titles that they do release, even though there is not a lot of them it will probably still be a worthwhile trade-off.
