The tool is still in progress and its weighting system probably isnt quite kosher yet. But it is quite some brilliant work which will certainly be more accurate than just the Amazon bestaeller list over time.

Right now I think its weighting system leans considerably in favour of the PS4......for example, its raw prediction for April suggests the Switch at 50% of the PS4, something I consider extremely unlikely despite the impact of GOW, but if it even comes to anything below 65% of the PS4's sales for April, I would say the tool is already very accurate.

Based on the emerging figures for April NPD, I think the NPD predictor tool is already very accurate indeed. It should for now be the authority on NPD until any further developments.
