You think most of the voters have ever played a Magnavox, Intellivision, Turbo Graphix, 32X, Neo Geo CD, or Colecovision? i highly doubt it. I doubt they could even rattle off a game or two without googling them. |
My grandfather had an Intellivision, and I liked it so much, I bought my own years later. His favorite games were PGA Golf and PBA Bowling. My favorites were/are Snafu, Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, Swords and Serpents, Dracula. We had a Colecovision in our house growing up, and I also bought myself one years later. My dad's favorite game was Carnival. My favorite games were/are B.C.'s Quest for Tires, Smurfs: Rescue from Gargamel's Castle, Mr. Do, Bump n' Jump, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Venture, Mouse Trap, Lady Bug, Star Wars: The Arcade Game, Popeye, Zaxxon, Space Fury, Burger Time, Root Beer Tapper, & Q*Bert. Colecovision was known as "The Arcade Quality" home console in its day.
I don't disagree that XBox went too soon, and 360 is heading that way as well. I've voiced that opinion in this thread all ready.
