This thread is talking about who will sell the most, that means LT. It is a forecast, projection, not a look at know numbers. What is the point of discussing hard data?

I do am no fortune teller so I cannot tell you, this year GOW will clearly sell more, will it outsell SOT 5 years down the road? I have no idea.

Comparing a game for today to a service based game design around tomorrow? I do not no. You have my answer for 2018. I don't like assuming and betting on things I have no control on. So ill play it safe.

If you don't want to make predictions for the game there is no reason to enter a thread that is specifically asking who will sell more (and that isn't a 2018 question).

One of the pillars of this site is making predictions.

I don't predict apples to oranges comparisons. Maybe if the games were more similar to each other and focused on similar audiences. Both games couldn't be any more different from each others. Like comparing a Boat to a Car.

We are not comparing technical or even subjective opinions. It is a simple who will sell more. So if you want to compare let's say Airbus 380 sales versus Mustang sales and ask who will sell more in any given year or lifetime I would safely predict Mustang will sell more.

Yes :p

No one will be playing Sea of Theives 5 years from now imo.

"Sea of Thieves has early success but with a caveat. Sea of Thieves had 1.7 million monthly active users on console and 283,000 on PC during its launch month. However – more than half of these users obtained the game through the limited free trial offered as part of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass. This leaves some unanswered questions concerning the long-term success of the title." - SuperData

Actual sold copies of game (not gamepass ) = ~900k-1m  in the first month.  (God of War did 3.1m+ in 3days)

And look at the player base... its shrunk to near nothing already.
It has 540 viewers on Twitch atm.   (God of War a "one and done" game has like 5k viewers atm)

Intrest in the game has dropped like a rock.

SoT will make a miracle and go from 1M first month to 10M LT. Believe.
