On the flipside, I haven't seen anyone consider this possibility which could be the case: what if this is a spin off Pokemon game solely meant to cater to the casual Go audience and not actually a core gen 8 game? Maybe GF is working on both projects right now and the true gen 8 games are still a solid year and a half away or so. I can dream at least.
