When Thanos sacrifices Gamora for the Soul Stone it is the cost that makes his goal have value. Even at the end he admires Scarlet Witch for killing Vision before he brings him back to kill him again. His distorted logic is creatures of comfort don't value what they have, they grow complacent and spread until they collapse like Titan did. Through loss and pain the survivors are reforged hence why in his mind the half that remain are changed and for the better to him. |
