Dark Souls technically has 3 games. Here though I'll consider the spiritual inspiration Demon's Souls and a spiritual soulmate Bloodborne as games in the series. Pick your favourites and tell us why you like them.
My picks:
1. Demon's Souls - An atmosphere that pulled me in right from the start, has an ethereal feeling to it. The areas in Demon's Souls have a distinct sense of place and it has the best lore in the series.
2. Dark Souls - The open world in Dark Souls is mesmerising. Everytime you open a shortcut and go "Ahhh" is a moment to behold. Due to its design it allows different approach on multiple playthroughs and it has the best area in the series, Painted World of Ariamis.
3. Dark Souls 3: The Fire Fades Edition - Dark Souls 3 with the DLC has the best boss fights in the series and the aesthetic of the game is something to behold. The bosses are all good and there are plenty of them.
