I dont think prime 1, 2 and 3 looked completely realistic or what passed for realistic back in the 6th generation. If you compare them to the first two halo games on the original xbox they look completely different. Metroid is far more colourful and stylalized where as halo is gritty and drab. I would like them to keep the semi realistic, semi stylealized artstyle they had with the other primes because it not only looks better it ages better as well IMO.
