5 hours is a short campaign even for shooters that is short it serves nothing more than to school the player, whats the point of another campaign? To sell the appeal of adding Octolings to the game not to mention the announcement they have planned in June. No games having more modes doesn't make them more appealing by default in many cases it makes things more convoluted an appealing package is something that works overall as a product not a mish mash of modes that's flawed thinking you're using there more modes is not what appeals to consumers do you see Elder Scrolls or Fallout adding multiplayer modes and such? No you know why these games are not geared towards it, has their appeal grown as time goes on? Yes because they built on what they focused on which was open world single player rather than chasing after other parts of the market another series has on lock down. |
Again, around 5-6 hours is not very short single player campaign for online focused game, it would be for single player focused game. You can scholl player in 10-15 min tutorial, you don't need 5-6 hours full singleplayer campaign for that. They can sell Octolings without another single player campaign. Reality is that they just want to make Splatoon 2 more appealing for single player players also despite game is online multiplayer focused.
MP4 can easily have solid online multiplayer mod and keep focused on singleplayer, similar like Splatoon is online multiplayer focused game but also has single player content. Also, becuase paid online Nintendo could force online multiplayer for MP4.
