It's called 'knee jerk' - a person sees something that defies every thing they believe, and they immediately lash out with negativity. Unfortunately, it's a common occurance in forums... :(

I sure you hope you're not talking about me, because I have done no such thing, I simply pointed out that using 1 games total worldwide sales against others first week one region sales isn't a very good way to get your point across, most of the games he used also are more established brands. (Mario, Sonic, Resident Evil, Legos)

Because of that I posted Boom Blox first week US sales to show that it is significantly lower, and the chance of it selling as well as the titles he compiled is slim at best.

I didn't post the total worldwide sales as a means to compare against the 1st week sales of the others but merely to show that it has some legs on it.  Just as those I listed in the chart have done.

While many may be established franchises you can do the same for the other 19 titles that sold between 500k and 999k and many of them also started poorly and sold very resepctably and not all were established franchises.

I think EA will not release Boom Blox in japan after Mysims was a total flop there, BTW is Mysims also a niche unadvertised game?

It's already well into the language conversion process and marketing dollars already spent so Japan is getting the title.

Patcher is the voice of reason on this. I think he has seen the light.  (Scary -- huh.)

It might just be my own perception but it seems Pachter has been on the ball for the past month.  Almost as though he's seen the light or at least accepted what we all (OK, some of us) have known for over a year now.
