It doesn't matter how much it costs. Paying even a single cent for something that was previously free and offers no additional benefits is not "cheap". It's nothing more than donating money to Nintendo.
Or "good business" as some would say.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
