I've been playing Splatoon 2 a lot (I think over 100 hours at this point) and I think I only had a couple of disconnects in all that time, and I don't think I ever had an input delay.
The first Splatoon was really bad, that was a very painful experience even though I loved the game, and don't get me started on Smash....
But the point is I honestly can't see how Nintendo didn't improve their online, it's waaaaay better than in the Wii U days.
