Sadly it looks like most people may have peaced out following Infinity War. I also liked Black Panther but I found the world and the story possibilities to be better than the film’s story. The cast is excellent with really only the best friend as a character I felt didn’t work but I blame that more on the script than the actor. Even more impressive is its staying power. My local theatre usually does not keep anything for more than 2-3 weeks. It only has 8 screens and 2 are always devoted to the new big release for that week. 12 weeks in and it’s still showing there. Black Panther has also become the 9th highest grossing film of all time (not adjusted for inflation) and only follows The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron for the MCU in terms of box office receipts.

It's a shame people are peacing out, though. You'd have thought the most exciting time in this thread would be exactly after Infinity War, when everyone could finally come together and discuss the movie this was all leading up to (and boy there is a lot to discuss!). Oh well.

I had made a similar observation earlier this week elsewhere but I guess it’s a combination of people who haven’t seen it staying away for fear of spoilers and people who have seen it discussing it in threads devoted to the film itself so they don’t have to be careful about spoilers. I’ve been debating going to see it for a second time (and I’ve never done that except for Ultron which was out of necessity and not desire). My wanting to see it again stems more from wanting to enjoy this batch of characters as much as possible because I feel after Avengers 4, we’ll never have this big a group again as actors move onto other things.
